Photos did not exist before Thomas Cowley [left above], Robert's Great Great Grandfather; [4th gen], descended from Thomas Cowley 1698 [1st gen] and our first traceable forbear. After Patrick, [2nd gen]; son of Thomas brought Ardwhallan into the family in 1732, the Cowley's of Ardwhallan entered the 1863 Thwaites Land Owners Journal - listed in Top 10 Isle of Man landowners. I hope future proud generations of Cowleys keep adding to this historical website.
